Two-Spirit, Trans, Queer, Nonbinary and Gender Non-conforming people have many rights that are legally protected in the United States

In California:

you have the right to be called by your chosen name and pronouns by your employer, coworkers, teachers, and colleagues - regardless of what is on your legal Ids

you have the right to use the bathroom and locker rooms of your choice at school, at work, at home, and in all public establishments.

you have the right to participate in the sex-segregated activities (such as sports teams) that best match your gender identity

you have the right to wear the uniform and follow the dress codes that match your gender identity

you have the right to be protected from harassment, bullying, and discrimination at school, at home, and at work

you have the right to health insurance coverage for transition-related medical care - all public health insurance companies are prohibited from excluding coverage for gender-affirming medical care

you have the right not to show your id to a police officer when asked

you have the right to continue hormone treatments, and the right to request transition-related medical care while in California state prisons

you have the right to shower separately from other inmates upon request in California state prisons
